1st May 2006 Windsurfing: Shoreham Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: V nice in sun (12) Sea Temperature: Still cold (9) Weather: Rainy then sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: A half-decent long session 9.30-1.30. Pissed it down whilst driving to the beach so enthusiasm levels weren't all that high but on arrival at Shoreham was surprised to see 20+ people out on the water already. Started off OK on the 5.2 - low-mid tide so some nice ramps and rain soon stopped but the wind was a bit patchy. Changed up to 5.8 after about an hour which was better but tide was coming up as well and it soon turned into high-tide lumpy shorebreak crapness. Still...the sun was out for the last 2 hours so warm, windy and sunny - felt like summer - no complaints! First session of the year without boots and oh what joy to be barefoot again!!! Makes everything sooo much more enjoyable (apart from the walk across the beach stones...). Feet weren't cold at all once going. |
